We know that for a lot of our guests, this might be their first time out to California and we’re very excited to share this amazing state with everyone. While schedules and preferences may differ, we absolutely encourage our guests to consider making a trip or adventure out of their travels, and we’re willing to help as much as we can in making your time here as amazing as possible. With that said, we happily recommend a few things to do and places to see:
Yosemite National Park
If there was one place that I said you absolutely had to see if you ever had the opportunity, it would be Yosemite. It’s a very special place and unlike anything I’ve seen in regards to pure stunning natural beauty. Even if just for a day and half, it’s worth the trip. Though there’s a lot of things to do there: I’d recommend checking out the Sequoia Grove, and maybe considering a long hike. This past summer Andrea and I took a bus from the valley up to Glacier Point and then hiked the Panoramic Trail (starting at Glacier Point) all the way around the rim and down the Misty Trail. It was about 10 miles of hiking and at times a little strenuous but the views were absolutely worth it. If you want more suggestions, please ask!

San Francisco
The city where we met and fell in love… San Francisco is so special to us. It’s such a great city with countless things to do and see. The touristy spots don’t disappoint – Fisherman’s Wharf, Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park. Of course, there is great shopping and amazing restaurants. Please ask us/let us know if you’re going to make SF part of your California trip. We’ve got loads of ideas and tips!
Disneyland
You could take a day and head to the Los Angeles area for some Mickey and Minnie fun! Depending on traffic, it’s about a 4 hour drive from San Luis Obispo.

Las Vegas
Maybe you're up for a little Vegas vacation while you're on this side of the country! Las Vegas is a super fun getaway. Our favorite part is the amazing hotel pools; a great way to relax and soak up some sun. If you rent a car and drive from SLO to Vegas, it should take about 7 hours.

Drive up Highway 1
If you've never had the opportunity to drive along the coast of California, this is a definite must! I highly recommend it! Take a day and drive up (or down) the coast to see the extraordinary sights of Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur, just to name a few little towns. The winding road, steep cliffs, crashing waves, and miles of beaches are simply breathtaking. The drive from SF to SLO (or vice versa) takes about 6 hours. And it's totally and amazingly worth it if you haven't done it before.
