If anyone tells you that planning a wedding is easy, they’re probably too old to remember! One of the things that has been stressing us out recently: the baker. Planning a destination wedding, even when the destination is only 232 miles away, has been proving difficult lately with several not-so-great bakery experiences. This past Saturday morning, after a very dissappointing tasting appointment in Atascadero (a town just north of SLO), we decided to skip this formal appointment stuff and try one more place a bit off the beaten path. We visited a small bakery in a cute town called Arroyo Grande. It was love at first sight (and bite). CUTE little bakery inside and out with a WONDERFUL owner. Tim and I walked in, told him about the wedding, what we were looking to do, and he simply said, “I’m available – you’re on my calendar.” No pressure, no nickel and diming, no extra costs for delivery or usage of their adorable vintage cake stands. Just laid back niceness and a willing to work with us to create our ideal wedding; a quality that we’ve come to appreciate in all of our vendors.
We sipped some coffee and ate one of their delicious eclairs. Grabbed a lemon bar and macaroon to go and with that, another checkbox is checked and we couldn’t be happier! Thank you Eclair Bakery!

To Wayne: All I have to say is that I’ll be watching you and this dessert. Trust me on this one.
