Travel safe!

Andrea and I are officially in “list mode”. A lot on our minds, a lot of things to finish up, and a lot of things to try to line up for a relatively smooth coming week. In fact, I think Andrea has told me to “make a list” about three times this week, such as projects that still need to be completed, or items to bring down to San Luis Obispo early next week. I should be creating a list right now but I wanted to write to you instead. We did check off one major item today: after a predictably unreliable subway ride in San Francisco, we stopped by City Hall, filed in line behind the brides and grooms (strangely at 2pm on a Wednesday), and got a hold of our marriage license for next week. The gravity of next week is sinking in for us and we’re smiling, holding hands, and genuinely excited for next week. We do have one big item for your lists: TRAVEL SAFE. With family and friends coming from far and wide, we wish you safe and hopefully delay-free travel. See you in a week!

The Official “Aaron” Countdown

Today, my father Wayne told us that brother Aaron is very excited for the wedding. He’s begun his own countdown, having Wayne mark the days on his calendar, and calling Wayne for reminders. I know many of us, mothers, grandparents, fathers, family and friends have begun our own countdowns. Days left to see family. Days left to see California. Days left to relax. Days left of work. Days left to get married. We’re getting so very excited for everyone as we countdown with you.

Andrea and I spent the past weekend down in San Luis Obispo, our last trip down before the wedding. While part of the time was spent on wedding the planning, a larger part was relaxation. We climbed Bishop Peak. We drank beers and watched The Ragged Jubilee play at the San Luis Obispo Brews and Bites festival. We watched the Michigan Wolverines beat Western Michigan at Firestone Grill while eating Pig Sandwiches. Despite some sunburn (entirely our fault), we had a great weekend, and we’re (almost) ready for the wedding.

We can’t wait! See you all in 19 days!

Michigan Family Showers = Fantastic!

Tim and I just got back from a week-long trip to the homeland! We had a busy but fabulous time with our families. Saturday was the Facchini/Schaaf shower hosted by Tim’s Aunt Gina and Aunt Barb. A cute country theme was enjoyed by all! Great job Gina and Barb!!

Sunday was the Lindsay/O’Dell shower at my Grandma’s house. My maid of honor, Sara, decorated Grandma’s garden so prettily, and I know many members of my family helped to contribute. It was a beautiful (albeit hot and humid) day, and seriously so much fun.

I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and love for those family and friends who travelled near and far to come to the showers. It meant SO much to us. Thank you!!! And a GIANT thank you to everyone who helped throw us the most WONDERFUL bridal showers!

Stamp Party

IMAG0263

While we wish we could claim it was our idea to have an army of stamps on our wedding invitations, we assure you the combination of George Washington, Star, Big Horn Ram, and the Wedding Ring stamps, only accentuates the fact that we like to have fun and can’t wait for all of you to join us. Wedding invitations are on the way, stamp army in tow!

Without further ado…

Finally, here are a few of our favorites from our engagement session with our fabulous photographer, Sam Potter! Weather and logistics finally aligned and we had a great day running around San Francisco taking photos. It’s great practice for the Big Day. And we could not be happier with how they turned out. Hope you like them too!

Mid-May Update

Andrea reminded me that we’ll be married in 126 days. Planning is going well and we’re starting to move full steam ahead on projects and planning and hoping to make it an incredible day for us and for our guests. Wedding invitations are being finalized and will be going out likely later in June. If you haven’t had a chance, check out the hotel blocks that we have reserved for our guests as they’re slowly starting to be filled up. If you’re thinking about making any side-trips in California before or after the wedding and want any advice, definitely shoot us a message and we’d be more than happy to help you plan. We just received our engagement photos and they’re just gorgeous. Andrea will probably post a sample of those here soon. We also want to welcome Pastor Daniel Bud from Hillside Community Church in Michigan as our wedding’s pastor and officiant. It’s so special to have him with us for the ceremony. I hope you all are doing well!
